 Does any member of this forum have a turbo on order from from Power Ford in Castle Hill Sydney? Mine has been on order for 3 mths and I was expecting to get it in August. I have now had a call from the dealer telling me that I will have to wait until October. that's a 6 mth wait from the time I ordered it and paid a deposit. he tells me that there allocation of cars has been cut from 6 a month to 3. This is a big dealership and I am not sure if he is telling me porky pies or not. If anyone else has a car on order from this dealer or any other dealer in sydney and has been told a similar story let me know. 3-4 mths wait seems to be the average from what I read on this forum. 6 mths is just f******g ridiculous.

 :(

I got a quote from Power Ford and they said they could get me a car within 2 months...

The quote wasn't that impressive though.

Anyway, check your contract, because they have blown out your delivery date by 3 months!! you may be able to move to another dealer who would be able to take care of you. I know City Ford is able to get a car fairly quickly. :censored:

more than likely that they are selling your car to someone who is willing to pay more for faster delivery hence push back cars that they are not making much money on.

a tip before you sign the contract is get the dealer to agree on a fixed delivery date, none of this estimated date crap. which give them extra 120 days from the estimated delivery date. that way the dealer will no if they don't delivery the car by that time they will lose the sale.

You are never going to get a dealer to give you a fixed delivery date because the fact of the matter is that they have no control over the delivery of your car, if your car has been held up it's because of problems at ford motor company and theres not a damn thing your dealer can do about it. At the moment ford is well behind. I ordered my car on the 22nd March delivery date was first week of July no ifs, buts or maybes and I'm still waiting now with still no confirmed date, all I know is that its at FPV.

I spoke directly with FPV yesterday and they told me that there were no delays at moment.

yeah I know that any delay might not be the dealers fault. by putting a fixed delivery date, you will not be bounded by the contract for that extra 120 days. therefore if you are not happy with reasons the dealer is telling you, it is your right to walk away. by doing this you will have more control over the contract.

I have had fixed delivery date on every new cars that I have to put an order in, so it can be done. I manage to get the car before those dates in several occasions. Once I walked away from a deal because they couldn't deliver my car and trying to sell me a different color at higher price. it just depend on whether the dealer is taking you for a ride or not. it is a standard practice for them to get to sign the contract and tie you up by telling you whatever you want to hear. that is why you hear a lot of doggie dealers.

a friend of mine who is a manager at a dealership told me this.

its simple, you need to protect your interest and they want to make money, so it all come down to your negotiation skill.

All I did was add a clause stating that the dealer would supply me a loaner car, at their cost, for the time between the actual delivery date and scheduled date...
