Also if your running vista make sure the game is running under administrator. Then jump on the GoW website and it should list compatibilty issues on there.Oh yeah, dont buy things from Hardley Normal to that might help.Felix

The above are sort of typical, however normally would let the game work at all... You would 'typically' get an error message from or of the above issues...When it returns back to the windows desktop - does the game still remaining in the task bar on the bottom of your screen? If so this may be caused by a number of things, internet firewall is one of the most likely...Let me know if it remains in the task bar when it switches back... I would also check the game forum for a list of known problems.

You would think they would have some sort of inbuilt system to recognise compatibility issues!! Im sticking with XP until the change is inevitable!! Go to my computer, on your desktop2. Click C: drive3. Go to Program Files4. Microsoft Games folder, then click on Gears of War folder (if you have placed Gears of War folder in another location on your computer go to that location and find Gears of War)5. Look for Binaries6. Once Binaries is open scroll down until you find Startup application (not startup.dll)7. Right click on it and click on Run as AdministatorEach time you run Gears of War you must Run as Administator to avoid crashes. This solution have worked I was on Gears of War a few minutes with zero problems. If you are experiencing crashes even with step by step help, try updating your video card drivers.
