I don't ride bikes, but wouldn't jumping on a 'busa from a 250 be like getting off your Ls and out of your mums '87 Corolla, straight into a Veyron?

Or Billsta's F6.. :spoton:

Na mate they are great you will need to look at the tyres on it but it is like allways with the runnin costs of them you play nice on the go button and you will be fine. As a daily commuter the size of them and being taller makes it nice to get behind the flares out of the wind. They can be a little toeie in traffic you just have be cairfull of that.

But you put a decsient pipe on her and you will be known to the people driving cars and tring to lane change you into the gutter. + you will have the legs to ride out of danger as well.

Go the Busa and feel the power of the 1300.

I know it is more than 7k but you will love it!!

Absolutely they are a good thing, I don't deny that. The original poster said he'd prefer under

7k and that wouldn't get him much in the way of a busa. The bikes I suggested can be bought for less than 7k with some haggling and keep the spare change.

It's quite a step up. From about 40 hp and 160kg to 160hp and 190kg (by memory)

However given the bike only goes as fast as you twist the throttle its managable.

Just makes the learning curve a little steeper for the rider.

My brothers have a few bikes for day to day runs...

(now this is where I fall short of knowledge...)

1 - has a Aprilia Tuono with about 25K spent on it... (brand new when he got it)...

2 - Honda V twin something... Or he might have sold it for a Ducatti something... (also brand new)

3 - Yamaha R1 with about 15K spent on it... (again new)..

Apparently they all go to Philip Island each year or something... sorry not into bikes...

Oh yeah and I think my bro in QLD has a Suzuki GSK 1100 or something...

All I remember is the one that's now got the R1, had a GSK 1100 years ago, rebuilt and was running at just under 1200, and I remember hearing this thing being flogged from over 3 KM's away, in built up residential areas (on main roads of course)... but that was years ago...

BTW - I heard one of the talking about a MV Augasta or something that they were looking at getting... Is that good or something???

Would have probably been a honda VTR1000 SP1/2 sold for a Ducati 1098

They are both quite popular bikes in their market segment.

MV Augusta is a bit like the ferrari of motorcycles. Expensive, Good to look at and the current ones don't go bad either.

Hmm....they look chunky as

The Honda 1/2 the Kms and newer model and cheaper.

While the honda is a newer model by year. The actual mechanicals have remained unchanged since the release of the bike in the mid 90's. The busa has a higher level of equipment as well as being more popular so you pay a bit more for that.

Plenty of options for 7k. If you can stretch the budget to around 10k you could buy something brand new or like Senna. T said there's always the hyosung ( the kia of the bike world)

Licence in QLD isnt an issue as u can go from L's to OPEN licence unrestricted in 1 week here :P ...lol thanks Q-Ride :)

Not as of July 1st, new laws come in. Then its 250cc for a year. Doesnt matter about Qride. Then they are looking at bringing in LAMS which would be better I reckon.

So unless you have book in and pay for your Q ride course before the end of the month, I'd be on the phone now, 18 days left.
