Finally bought my first ever game console.. Decided on the wii because its apparently fun, so far im not too impressed.

Is there any super duper games out for it? Im set on buying guitar hero III for it, probably will in the next few days.

ooooo and does anybody have any accessories they want to get rid of? mainly extra controllers or games? (if from melbourne) "I pay cash"

basically any input is appreciated (except, "buy a ps3 u tightass/nancy")

Nintendo Wii's are great.

You definetly need atleast 3 controllers, of course you will need the nunchucks to go with them. As soon as mates come over you will be competing with your misses plus a mate as the more the merrier in most games.

Games to get so far are:

Mario Karts (Priority)

Wii play

Mario Vs Sonic Olympics (not sure of the exact name, Im not at home)

I have about five other games but these are the most played.

I would definetly recommend buying the up grade cables for better graphics if you have a plasma / lcd, also when you buy Mario Karts the game up grades the graphics even further.

Graphics is the main thing that lets the system down so everything you can do to improve it is a bonus.

Wiiiiiiiiiiiii - smash!

Mate, just make sure your not playing any of the sports games in front of a plasma and let go of the controller... It wont be pretty!

Been looking at one myself... just toying wiht the idea of a PS3 or the Wii... yes two completely different systems, but not sure if I want the PS3 (only upside for us is the blueray, but will prob get a stand alone anyways)... So the Wii I think it will be...

Let me know if u are happier in a few days with it or still not impressed...

Iv recently purchased a PS3, but bought the missus a Wii for xmas last year...

2 Totally different systems... Both are great.

Wii is great for fun and messin around... Gets real competitive though. I really try beat missus all the time, cant handle loosin to her.

So far only got Mariokart and the Wii sports that comes with the console.

Mariokart is great fun, especially with 2 steering wheels after a few drinks.

The PS3 on the other hand is for more 'serious' gaming if you would call it that. I love it... Bought a 42" Full HD LCD on the weekend and it looks so realistic on Full HD, just awesome gaming.

Saying that, I havent as yet hooked the Wii up to the Full HD LCD so cannot comment on the upgraded graphics.

Overall, its cost me a packet but im happy with both, I just think that the Wii is more for fun than anything, as someone else mentioned it gets better with more people.

Wii is the bomb for having friends over for a feed, drinks and a night of being childish on a gaming unit. The usually-anti-gaming mrs gets into it too, so it's a winner for me.

Mario kart is killer, but you'll need a big TV for 4 player. 50" suggested :P

Wii Sport is great fun with groups, but boring as f*ck solo.

Wii fit looks like it has some interesting stuff into it too, but I haven't used it much yet.

I've also got Call of Duty 4, which is a cool game once you get the hang of the controls. I'd flog that off cheap if you wanted it, as once you finish it (took me bloody ages) it's not worth the revisit.

Basically, I look at the Wii as a social gaming deck, for when you have peeps over and want to have a laugh. Anything multiplayer is gold. Nothing else comes close in this area.

Oh and never, ever challenge me to tennis, as I'm the Australian champion.

Just had my old lady call and ask what I wanted for my birthday (feel like a kid again haha) and I asked for EB Games voucher so I could grab Tiger Woods and NBA.

Who cares if I'm nearly 30, games are fun.
