Smoke them tyres Member 557 Member For: 17y 2m 1d Gender: Male Location: Brisbane Posted 11/06/08 12:20 PM Share Posted 11/06/08 12:20 PM The third member must weigh around 50kgs as its weight when lifted under a car feels about the same as a cast iron cased toploader and I know they weigh right on 50kg (slightly less than my hernia level but not by much!).The axles, discs and calipers would be around half that weight per side. Don't know how much a housing would weigh though. Maybe talk to a diff shop.......The 9" was originally intended to be a heavy vehicle style diff with it rugged construction, pinion tail bearing, high hypoid angle etc, so it was never going to be a lightweight.
