Hey guys,

well im moving to Tasmania for work and I was wondering if there are any good tuners in Tasmania to tune and service my T? because I was planning on taking my T with me.

also is there a race track or anything fun to do down there in the car except for running over animals (I hear there is alot of them on the roads)..

also I couldnt find a tasmanian section on the forum? is that because they are all related down there or something? or arent there enough people on here from Tasmania?

hmmm anyway should be an interesting journey, hopefully it wont be too boring down there with the car, although ill be pretty much flat out with work anyway.

luckily I'll be going on the next VIC cruise as its about 3 days before I leave...

cheers,

There is a couple of tassie members here and they have a drag strip.

Zx6blue posted some pics and race details about a week ago.

I have met Zx6blue and have to say he only has 1 head, so I guess the stories are not true.

I have spent a fair amount of time down there myself and I love it.

In Hobart you are a fair way from the tracks which are located in simmons plains, about 30 mins south of launceston.

Drags are like once a month I think.

There is heaps of awesome driving roads but mostly up on the north to north west coast.

ah k cool, well once a month will be enough to vent the urge to drive like a dick head on the roads...

what about tuners??

or a good place to service the car at least?? im a bit worried about not getting it done at HPF cause when I first got my T and had it serviced at other places (which I wont name) I had nothing but issues with them and there work.

HP-F have been great and im just a bit cautious taking it somewhere else after bad experiences in the past..

Im from Tassie, there arent any tuners down here, not like the ones you guys have on the mainland anyway, just a couple of over priced garages. The roads around hobart a great, especially down south, but its just a pity there isnt really much road.........there is really only one way to get somewhere down here and once you've done it, that's it. I live right on the main street of Hobart (Davey St) and I see a about 4 T's a week, there are a couple of car clubs down here too, just have to hunt around when you arrive I spose?? Well hopefully ive be seeing ya,

Thanx Mick :verysad:

As for tuners I did hear a whisper that a guy in hobart might be looking into capa flash tuning so will keep my ear out for that one.

As for the roads there is some great driving down here for bike and car. Just get on THE highway(pretty much only one to get everywere) and turn off somewere and you should find a pretty decent road. Symmons plains and baskerville get a pretty good run with guys going to them all the time, haven't been myself yet but I'm sure you will find some info.

The drag strip is well...

Its as if they just whacked a bit of crappy road in the middle of nowhere and said lets race on it.

It is in need of a bit of TLC but it still somewere to race without the hassles of the :oohwoah: .

I'm sure the boys in Hobart will point you in the right direction for things to keeps you occupied.

Thanks for the replies guys, I might have to bring my car back to vic if I ever need to adjust the tuning.

but the roads sound like fun.

LoL @ the birds with two heads hahah

yeah ill probably take my car down to the drags now and then, im trying to find a place right in the city so I can walk to work, then I can use my T as a weekend warrior.

I might just do servicing myself. I dont trust everyday family car mechanics with my car after my bad experiences previously..
