hmmm, some debate has been risen!

Personally I think the 3540 with external gate is the best set-up for the street. Somewhere around 12-13psi would let you run normal street tyres to keep costs down but still be a very quick car. Saying semislicks can hold 400 on a good road is like saying my street car runs 10's when I strip the interior and fit slicks and front runners, not so much a street car anymore (we've already had that debate). Australian roads aren't great everywhere, I know on most roads around sydney my street tyres struggle for grip in second and first gear is absolutely useless.

P.S. the 42R is the *beep*! :soapbox:

comon senna, im from FAR north queensland, our roads up here make a mountain goat trail look like a freeway coz they go underwater every year... when I say good road, that should read average in sydney terms... Go get some new tyres bro, sounds like that's what your problem is...

I estimate these tyres I have will last about 20000kms and they $390 each, justin has some bridgestone semi slicks and they were $440 delivered. No traction problems in anything but 1st gear. Who drives around in 1st anyways? GT3540 is too small to be ULTIMATE.... but then again weve already had this debate...?

You been to sydney lately, I'd rate most country road on par if not in better condition :soapbox:

I'm just throwing a few points out there guys, I'm basically enjoying peoples opinions. I have pretty well sorted what I want to do with my car, this is just an excercise to see what peoples views are

'Ultimate' would be to toast everyone from the lights to say 100-200m max.

So a good set of tyres for 1st gear launching would help, plus that's pretty much 90% of everyones driving.

Ultimate street turbo setup and the one that will be going on my own F6..... Would have be TO4Z with 1.00 split rear housing, and twin 44mm gates to keep gasses divided completely(worth about 150rpm over single gate).

Customers F6 with rods, pistons, billet oil pump gears and valve springs but no port work or cams, plasmaman intake manifolds/800hp cooler and one of my manifolds with single turbosmart 50mm gate, full boost 2700rpm and 440rwkw on 98 fuel thru ZF 6 speed auto. Car is a weapon, altho the owner isn't into drag racing so will never see the qtr, however can get any boost pressure desired off the footbrake. He commented that its as responsive as his old GT35 setup with stock manifold and same exhaust/setup only with an additional 90rwkw. He commented that transient boost response is actually better, altho straight off the mark feels the same.

I personally will be running stock dunlop 19's and an Eboost 2 with gear dependent boost control, and will prob have 3 boost settings for gears 1-3 and 4 thru 6 will be whatever 450rwkw is. This would give the response of any other setup, and the power potential of a far larger and less drivable setup, and finely tweaked to avaliable traction so too much is always just the right amount;)

I believe it is water cooled and ball bearing, that's why they spool up so quick. On the other hand though if you don't have boost control in lower gears it will just fry tyres like everything else
