Hey. Got a pretty urgent question if anyone can help

I need to change the battery in my car. If I take the terminals off im assuming the alarm will go off.

I have 2 little silver ford keys which I assume are to use when changing the battery.

This may be a stupid question, but where do they go?

The keys will be to turn on/off the alarm siren...

Use the keys, and it will stop the noise - however the alarm will still activate...

The others that dont have keys, (Factory alarms), I didn't receive any keys with mine either (F6 - factory alarm), and it didn't look like there was a 'key hole/lock' on the alarm siren... This made me think that the alarm (factory) doesn't have a back up feature...

Been meaning to ask the service boys, but keep forgetting...

If you have a key, use it before removing the battery... and remember to de-activate the alarm from the remote also... Will insure that the alarm immobilizer (if fitted also) wont cause any issues once the new battery is in...

Sounds like you have an aftermarket alarm.

Did you buy the car second hand?

The 2 silver keys sound like keys for an aftermarket alarm. try to find a black box in the engine bay that looks like it has a horn on one end. There will be a small black cover that you peel back and the key will go in there.

Turn it off and you can change your battery.
