Agreed I had a set of cams & valve springs delivered to my door from the US last year for $950.

If yo are paying $3k just for the cams you are getting ripped.

Yes you can buy the valve springs from about $286 from Nizpro.

You should be able get the cams from $650-$700 (retail for the cams is $900.00 + gst + freight) depending on were you get them from.

All you need then is to get your tunner to fit and dial them in. The cams will come spec sheet and there is also three stages.

You guys should go for stage two or three. Stage two goes for the midrange power. Real useable power for on the street were stage three is for high end power only. It is designed for track use or dyno work it has been known to be extreamly lumpy at low revs thus tending to be a bit of a dog to drive on the street.

I guess you have hit the nail on the head there forced.

The stage two cams will give you mid range power that you will find to be useable as a spirited street driver.

Yes a bigger turbo will give you more top end power and lets face it how driveable is a xr6t with 400+ rwkw anyway. They are great down the drag strip but as far as usable power you would probley find that the car is much more functional with mid-range power gain rather than 20rwkw's right up the top.
