I am just wondering what it costs roughly to get a good work shop to put a tuff cam and valve springs into an XR6T, I am doing exaust, CAI, custom cooler and a tune so I thought I may as well get the cam and springs done at the same time but im not confident fitting them myself. where in melbourne dose them and roughly whats the cost to suplie and fit.

Why do you say the cam isnt worth doing? im not asking that in a rude way either im just interested because I would have thought there would be great gains in doing the cam. haha yeah sorry bout the title aswell

Didnt think you were, it's all been covered to death have a good read through the sections your posting in before you start your next thread.

Theres easier and cheaper ways to make power with these things before putting cams in them.

Been round here long enough to realize that mate I'm sure someone will be along to Mcwarn you about me soon enough...

I think theres a few threads in the N/A section that turned to shit about cams and the plus minuses of doing them...unless someone moved them to the bowels...

I remember reading a post on cams, and basically unless your aim is 400rwkw+ you wont need em.. Sure they'll give you an increase but money better spent elsewhere

I think doing cams is about how you wish to make power. They should be used if you feel that you are going to shoot at the pointy end of 300-400 rwkw to get the use of changing them. You will need to change your valve springs if you do go up in boost as you will experience valve float as your boost increases.
