just a quick question how much damage does it take to write off a car these days somebody smashed into mine while parked here are a few pics and also about how much would it cost to fix if anybody has any ideas cheers . also it has a small indent in the roof from the smash a little rattle coming from the diff and a small dent in the front 1/4 panel drivers side

Doubt that would be a write-off. Depending on you insurer, but they usually start having second thoughts once it hits around 50% of the car’s value.

Was there any damage to the rear suspension? Did the mongrel stop and leave details?

yeah cops got him p plater so the repair is free just interested in what ppl think it will cost to repair more a pain in the ass than anything else and the rear is fine besides the diff noise

go to a ford wrecker get a new rear door, and get that dent taken out of the back quater and it shouldn't be to bad at all... I no when my car got backed into.. the panel beater said it would cost about 2k .. it cost me 400$

nope im aware of that ill f*ck it off after its repaired and buy something else maybe a new turbo they look alright . its insured for 32 grand so im guessing anything below about 15 grand and they will repair it .

Well mine was 4500, but they still havent fixed the diff... which is worse now, so it will cost more than it would have if they did it right in the first place. They also now have to redo 80% of the other work, since the quality of repair was sh*t.

So I would say yours would be closer to 8-10g.

Sorry, I'm a little drunk and sitting at home feeling sorry for myself... didnt even say sorry to see whats happened. f*cking sucks!

I'm thinking that if there is chassis damage then they might. Whos your insurance with? Do they even straighten chassis these days?
