Vagabond Member 9 Member For: 16y 9m 14d Posted 08/06/08 07:37 AM Share Posted 08/06/08 07:37 AM All the economics is against the sellers...A) Fuel prices coming up, people going for more affordable/economical cars -> less demand -> lower pricesB) Interest rates are going up -> variable financing is hurting -> people forced to sell their cars -> extra supply -> additional affect due to people avoiding to buy a car in the current environment -> less demand -> lower pricesC) FG... Enough said.My advice would be that if you're thinking of selling sell it now because prices haven't bottomed out yet. The FG is only just out and will take 6-12 months to propagate. Interest rates may still rise and definitely won't be down until at the earliest 2009. Petrol prices are only getting higher. The depreciation in 2008-2009 is going to be worse than 2007-2008...I lose my turbo restriction in november so I'm not complaining however

They also have a cross over pipe and turbo bolted on the side of the exhaust manifold. I'm guessing they have also gone to the trouble of putting an intercooler in too!Just got screwed around twice... makes me sceptical... ofcourse there's cheap ones around... Anyone who wants to cash out of their BA BF for an FG is up against a fair challenge.. the used car market will be flooded with them... Excess supply increases competition and pushes prices down.. I also took notice of the diesel price the other day - $1.77! Takes away from owing a diesel just a little bit. CheersDan

Posted 08/06/08 10:57 PM Share Posted 08/06/08 10:57 PM there was an ex-chaser on website was selling at auction/selling price of $18500, was a 2006 BF auto with ~60k's on it... now that was cheap. They have them all the time, so I'd say the OP with the car from Liverpool got it from there and is now trying to make a quick profit

adamw Member 143 Member For: 20y 5m 5d Location: Darwin Posted 16/06/08 05:26 AM Share Posted 16/06/08 05:26 AM You may get lucky, but my bet is you'll be hanging on to this for a little while at that price. Ask anyone on here that has recently SOLD their T (not traded, but actually sold) - you might be quite surprised at some of the timeframes and some of prices received.SOLD for the 31k - buyer picked it up today (flew in from Perth and put it on a truck).I think it was a fair price. That puts the red book 3-year resale estimate (54%) right out the window. And in my case effectively puts me out of pocket at the end of my novated lease. My lease ends in August 2010, and the residual is $20,000.Basically, I'm screwed both ways because the value is dropping rapidly and the price of fuel will only hurt that. I may end up having to keep it as a weekend car - it may be worth practically nothing by 2010!
