basically just want to know if any one has those monza type or monster performance type coolers there only 400 wide by 300 high are they flat out crap or not bad for price I know there is always better but is it even worth upgrading the stock cooler for this on budget-ish

They will normally allow decent power to be made...............

but only for 1 run, they are not very good at cooling, which leads to high intake air temps which then leads to spark being reduced and therefore power being reduced.

save for a decent cooler

It really depends on what power your after but I was running the Monza cooler with over 300rwkw's which was good on a cold day but on a hot summers day it suffered from heat soak...

It's not as good as the Nizpro one or other coolers as they are in a category of their own but IMHO definately better than the factory one if your looking for cheap upgrade..

If you were to take intake temps into consideration at lets say 12psi, by the time you are at the top of the RPM range in the end of second gear, a Monza cooler would set your intake temps so high that the factory PCM is massively pulling out timing so your motor holds together. Yeah you can make 300rwkw on them and they perform marginally better than an f6 unit. We have ran them back to back on a dyno, beware they are rubbish even on a cold day. The only thing good about them is they flow well.

have been running a ebay cooler & it makes 320rwkw and at ight you know theres 320 there but during the day there is a huge difference I mean its almost frustrating. basically it suffers badly from heatsoak. dont skimp otherwise you will get frustrated. just my 2 cents. I learnt the hard way but now doin it properly phase 3 getting fitted at the moment, cant wait for tte same feeling during the day as I do at night.

Probably not a good idea to get one especially if you bought your car to sit on the dyno all day and do run after run.
