Hi Guys. Getting myself an XRT. BF II 6Sp Auto, 18" wheels, the usual.

I wanna keep it nice as it's a family car (yeah right).

But seriously, I hear about the CAPA tune, and these other mods. I read about lineal power delivery (which I like).

I don't want a monster I can't handle but I wouldn't mind tricking it up from the 245 up to say 270 or there abouts. Does increasing the boost help a little?

It's only got a few ks on it (Under 8,000) so it will be a while till I tinker, bbut what should I aim for? Im breaking the budget getting the thing so it will be a little while before I can spend a great deal.

Anyway, would appreciate any suggestions. Im in Melbourne by the way so if there is any custom tune places in Vic please let me know.

Thanks.

Hey mate :buttrock:

If you looking for 245-270rwkw I suggest a good custom tune, should see you around the 250rwkw mark. You'll be looking at 600-800 bucks on a custom tune, (depending on which company you take it to) and you could get the F6 CAI snorkel which is about 90 bucks from ford to help air flow. If you wanted more power than that you could purchase a monza intercooler which is about 400 bucks and is a direct replacement for the standard ford cooler, (this will hold up to approx 300rwkw)

Check under the sponsors thread for companies that can tune your car for you, all reputable too  and have a look around, theres a thread that was started some time ago which stated their cars mods and the power that was produced. Should give you an indication of what you'll need to do.

Whilost PURVIE's off finding links, I'll say these couple of things quickly...

F6 snorkel (DIY job, costs around $80 ebay)

CAPA Flash tune (generic around $600, custom around $1500 from one of our sponsors)

Maintenance jobs like cleaning out the TB, (possibly not necessary at this early stage, but worth doing I'd say, and boost solenoid maintenance)

also, whiteline sway bars are a good option for handling at around $500 a kit

EDIT: dammit, not quick enough Dan!!! :buttrock:

Just remember any power Mods you do may void the warranty

Yeah a custom tune should get around 250 -270rwkw ,anymore and you'll probably need some better injectors maybe intercooler to.

Thanks guys. Looks like a custom tyune may be the way to go. How to I find the sponsors on this site> Excuse my ignorance.

Also, I found a couple of cold air intaks on Ebay. IS there something in particular I should look for?

Im very mindful of warranty so just want to make sure I get a little of the potential out of waht will no doubt be a great car. I am so looking forward to picking it up on the weekend. My poor NA XR6 just feels so flat compared to the Turbo.

Anyway, any help would be great.

Also, do you giuys know if theres any XR clubs that meet for drives or events? I was going to join the XR6 owners club but have never gotten any feedback as to whether its worth it.

Thanks.
