I would be pissed more by the Nazi state attitude taken by vicroads as to what is determined to be illegal speeding. personally I reckon 5kph +/- is tolerable, but with the cameras you get what +/- 2kph? When the cameras aren't signposted this is a bit of blatant revenue raising IMO. Especially when modern cars are so torquey, you really don't have to do more than sneeze and your speed goes up by 2kph!

You Victorians have been getting shafted for some years now by the aggressive and inflexible speed camera enforcement that takes place but I am unaware of any action you take. This narrow margin of enforcement has always been so highly contentious and leaves so many avenue of defences.

I dont see what torguey-ness has to do with it or the other argument that is regulalry floated about cars being able to now do 200+. You as the driver are required to abide by the speed limit though all cameras do really suck.

All states get use to it as the technology is evolving with point to point speed cameras now being used and dual red light/speed cameras being used somewhere, I think S.A.

The biggest prob in nsw is that our penalties are far worse then any of the other states but ours have a fair tolerance, though they should all be blown up.

Hume Freeway has point to point cameras from near Cooper Street to Broadford. I always laugh at the NSW drivers who do 120 then slow down at each camera site then speed up, gift voucher in the mail for them I suppose.

I don't like cameras but this this is a country where law is enforced, if you think you can do what you want and win I suggest you go live in Afghanistan or some country where they don't mind how you drive. Just quietley if you wanted to fight a fine for 3km over the speed limit you will win.

The loops in the road are pretty much 100% accurate speed measuring, you see a lot embedded in the road that are used for statistical purposes average vehicle speed and traffic counts, they usually have a cabinet to the side of the road. If you see loops and no cabinet there is probably a camera instead :nyaah: You can find the Citylink cameras by looking for loops, I imagine same on Eastlink.

I doubt there will ever be a tunnel from the Eastern to Citylink, the demand on Eastern is the city and they won't build a tunnel to Burke St for a few suits. The idea is make the freeway as least desirable as possible so you get out of your car and use alternate transport, not build extra freeways so you like using cars more.

Has anybody driven up Springvale Rd since East opened? I reckon the traffic would be non-existant now.

I f*cking love Eastlink.

It used to take me 50 to 55 minutes door to door to get to work, and on Monday it took me exactly 30 minutes door to door. MUAHUAHAHA

It's gonna cost me $25.88 each week in tolls, however I'll actually be making money if you juxtapose it with the savings in fuel costs :spoton:
