I love Evo's, I toasted a modded one a few weeks ago!

Nah, they are a super car, and their consistant high rankings in the BFYB mag reviews says it all.

Have you thought about a STI?

yeah that's the thing, they crank up the excess to reduce the premium. When I first got my T NRMA wanted $3500 premium with $500 excess, and just car wanted $2600 premium with a $1400 excess!

Good writeup sixfan or should I say fourfan?

T's are awesome cruisers with buckets of torque when you need it but unfortunately it's weight and handling let it down as a performance car, which can be expected in a family sedan and I think is fair enough.

For sheer performance I'd go the Evo, I've just swapped from an XRT to a Normal Lancer and the difference is drivability and handling is day to night. I couldn't imagine what it would be like with all the performance suspension and brakes plus AWD and Boost. :w00t2:

I think my next car will be an EVO or STI...... Unless I can get another wicked deal on an XRT :nono2:

the ford salesman did such a piss-poor job here I

went to Mitzi and got the EVO...

You're not wrong sixfan! Dealing with them here just makes my blood boil.. I was just about ready to buy a car from there a few weeks back and I turned up for a PRE-BOOKED test drive and the guy made me wait while he talked to some other potential customers who walked in off the street. He then announced he was taking them for a test drive first and I would have to wait 45 minutes!! WTF! Even dealing with the service dept has been such a miserable pain in the arse.

I have just taken a downgrade to a Mitsubishi, not to an EVO, but I just sold the T and bought a Ralliart Colt.

btw Evo's are very easy to modify. Check out www.evolutionm.net, download ECUFlash and get yourself an OpenPort cable and you can tune away... there's even tutorials on there for beginners. That's one thing really lacking with the T... there is no reasonably priced or better yet free software out there for tuning. I don't agree with the principle that anyone who is not in tuning for commercial gain is somehow incompetent and shouldn't have access to tuning tools.
