Just wondering if im going to need internals soon?

at the moment ive got 288rwkw...(limited due to clutch)

im about to take my car in to get re-tuned by XFT and they are going to be fitting a extra things but I should be expecting around 330rwkw's.

my current mods are :

-Full xforce exhaust 4' dump, 3.5' cat

-Siemens 60lb injectors

-Walbro GSS340 fuel pump

-Growler SS cai

-Nizpro valve springs

I've just got my Malwood opt 3 clutch in now so there is going to be no slippage problems.

My car is a late 05 BA mk2 sedan - 6 speed manual... they didnt come with the upgraded internals yeh?

im just about to buy rapids full intercooler setup with plenum... and I hope to achieve around 370rwkw... but just a lil scared about the limits of the internals. I dont really thrash my car but I do like to step on it now and again.

any sugestions?

yep your right 330rwkw is pushing it on a standard bottom end IMO . Some have made more. Mate what a package anyhoo. Sounds like a great ride as is . No need to push it any further. Power /Road relationship is a factor here.Have to get it down. ??

yeah there does come a point where more power will make your car slower on the road due to wheelspin

but it does depend on your intentions with the car as to weather you need any more power

this 'point' is alot higher than 370rwkw bud... invest in some decent tyres.

no such thing as too much power IMHO. id like 600rwkw if I had the money...

how much does it cost roughly, if you send your engine to atomic and get them to rebuild it for you rather than buying a forged short motor from them?

if you do build a forged engine, id go for more than 370rwkw too... put the bigger compressor in whilst your turbo is off getting the wastegate done... then run 20psi all day with 400+rwkw...

Groper, I got all my engine internal for less then $3000 including an engine re-seal kit and head bolts from Ford.

My engine work was done for ~ $600 (bore honing and cleaning, crank balancing, valve springs installed in head, gudgeon pins installed and ring gaps done) He also painted my block.

I put the engine together with my mechanic so the build costs were minimal, but if you were to send your block to atomic, you could basically just take that cost out. I think I can get a block for around $1000 if not less. An F6 bottom end is around $2400.

ive never been in a 370+kw car so I cant comment on traction but people seem to always be saying they cant get traction on any street tyres hence the need for MT's

im talking 0-100 not roll ons

but in saying that I would still love a 400kw street car

with 340 1st gear in my T56 is basically useless from 3000rpm, and 2nd isn't much better at the same point, but it still moves pretty quick while chirping along :3gears:

I know that some people arent going forged pistons until chasing over 400rwkw so is it only really the rods and valve springs that need to be replaced for chasing high 300's??

Im on the way out and havent really had a good look at any rebuild threads but id like to know more about it...

Other than preppin & balancing the block properly what else really needs to be done??
