ANSU ... the ute sedan thing is a bit of a mystery, I think the computer or an exhaust component has been introduced to make up for no traction control (Expensive Daewoo did a similar thing)

was it your ute with the driveline vibration? mine is sweet .... so far (fingers crossed  )

They said your ute was abit low on km so this the reason for the different boost levels.Tight engine I spouse.I would say probley to that with a few km on it mate after your leaf springs settle in you will have the same hassle.I have sent you a PM regarding this anyway.

thanks mate ... $65  .... been think the same thing ... but letting it settle as you say ...

I'm wrapped with the ute ... will stay at about 240rwkw (ramping the boost the other way to APS) for a couple of thousand clicks ... check the tranny oil etc etc ... then go absolutely nuts with the thing

cheers

asnu

how do I find out if the factory boost control is working

without ford changing it.

1axr.

I should of commented on the subject of your boost abit more[sorry.]You would no mate if the thing is not working or set to 6psi as you would either have a slug to drive or a car that has extra power compared to other turbos.Your very luckie mate for the figures yours is putting out.Go to a dyno tuning shop and get them to measure your boost under load which they will tell you straight away.I am sure there is someone on this forum from WA that could recommend a good shop for you.

Just from memorie,Did I read sometime ago another standard car achieving these power figures from a dyno day?.Red one or something.

At the Melb dyno day a couple of the manual T's got 210rwkw and a couple of the auto's got 201-202rwkw in standard form with aircleaner still in car and standard too. (I think one of the manual's had air cleaner out). ;)

G.

Do you remember on the dyno day how they were measureing output eg,What gear all the cars were in and if a shootout mode was used.I did ask APS when doing my car why there is so much difference in power outputs between cars and they said gear selection was critical plus shootout mode must be used to get a common result.

Was it a dyno dynamics dyno?.

Seems strange that there is such a big difference in rwkw figures between standard cars?.

What was the lowest to highest figures recorded on that day. There has to be a answser to all this.

The common result from the 6-7 cars aps had done standard was 189-192 rwkw.Manual and auto.

at Melb DynoDay ...

the DynoDynamic dyno was reading within a couple of rwkws of APS's dyno (as the APS stage II was run as well) ...

the cars had more kms on them and varied fuel sources .... more details from the group of XRTs will be posted on the weekend ....

the shootout mode was used (with weather station) ...

fuel type, computer flashes, and certainly kms are the variables ..... boost and a/f seemed constant ..

next week we are going to Herrods and run their dyno as well (to get a wider calibration)

fascinating results ... I agree, quite a large variation ... 185-210 ....

cheers

XRTs rule
