autos were tested in 3rd gear

and manuals tested in 4th ...

more interesting eh? as one can expect more tractive force in lower gears and hence more max power ....

can expect about 5% increase if tested in the lower gears ...

my Mustang reduces power output in lower gears (cluely little computer seems to map each gear) but they are more the exception)

ASNU ... PM me if you want to have your car on the same dyno ... R&D etc ...:oooh:

Now I am getting a little confused. How can there be so much variation in power figures between standard cars?.I could understand 5rwkw but 20 is a hell of alot.Does anybody have any suggestions or information to enlighten me.

I am thinking its all to do with boost pressure variation,Have we all showed up another thing that's not consistant?.

the T was in a dyno shootout on 13/7/03, my car was first on in the morning about 5 deg in the work shop, no air cleaner and spun up 283 rwhp. two runs same result.

another standard T was present and I think he spunup about 270rwhp with aircleaner on, then off and got an extra 6 rwhp. mine was the highest hp for the day out of 25cars which included baxr8,t3 and modified xr8's.

attached the printout

I see from your dyno printout the test is done in HP.Here is the difference. The next question is that nobody seems to have a conclusive explanation is what is the actual kw figure taking into account driveline and dyno power losses to the rear wheels plus also what is yours a auto or manual.Getting there slowly but surely.

asnu

it is auto and does it make a differance if the dyno is in hp or kw.

283hp converts to 211kw if I'm not mistaken.

it was conducted on one of the latest dyno dynamics machines.

with the two runs on the dyno sheet the red line was with the air con on and the blue line was with the air con off.

me again ...

was that run in 2nd or third?? .. cause second gear runs are usually up 5-8% ...???

that run was not done in shoot out cause it hasn't got the listed parameters at the base of the sheet??

as to the difference in the power in the group of XRTs .... fuel type and km on the clock had most impact ....

haven't gone thru it all but ... the 185s were on ULP only and the 210s were manual with a lot of kms ...

tomorrow will post all I have got including the various a/f and boost for each car ...

cheers

Stop cruizin the forums and get em up will ya.

It's an age old debate that'll never please everyone realy isnt it, I've often wondered what the actual perfect situation is that will have everybody agree that the figures or results are THE figures to measure by.......
