Anyone else have/had this ?? Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/46007-banging-noise-in-back-of-ute/ Share on other sites

Sometimes if the cable isn't wound up tight enough the wheel will still move around.Stick your head under the back and see if you can move the spare wheel. Mine does the same when I am at WOT. Its a bit of a thud type of noise. I always assumed it is axle tramp as the spring loads up while weight is off the wheels for a split second. I just get off the trottle for that spilt second and it is all good. Have a spare wheel in the back and is usually sitting on some of that non-slip rubber matting but had obviously come off during some "spirited driving". Sudden stop, weird scraping sound, massive bang behind the cabin and one set of soiled jocks. I have had the spare both and and out, and the cable was/is def tight and nothing is moving there. Same as yours also, it only knocks on bumps, acceleration doesn't change it or have anything to do with it. Taken it back to ford twice, along with my dash rattle and something around the passenger rear speaker... All items still do it. And I'm not taking it back there again, caught them thrashing the fark out of it last time, they used 100k's of juice in 10k's! I reset the fuel consumption meter and it was on like 47L/100, and told them one of my mates had seen them thrashing it, the manager rang back to say the foreman was the one driving it and yes he admitted to and had no reason why.... Fcukers, wont see another cent of my money ever again, including on a new FG F6.6BOOST Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/46007-banging-noise-in-back-of-ute/#findComment-683736 Share on other sites

Also the exhaust hits above the diff on the chassis. Check these two too.
