My brake dude was fitting some purple coloured Bendix to his VE SS. Reckons they put your head through the window and were his pad of choice.

Yeah I asked about them and the guy said they were better in that they have a higher heat thingy.. Basically they can go on for longer without fading.. They were $175 ish

These sound very interesting, I'll have to see if I can get some more reviews/testimonies.

How much were your QFM's? Think I paid around $85ish. Paid $150 for the Greenstuff. I'm interested to see if you had the same dilemma with the 'friction material' size on the rotor.

I can't remember the price, I changed calipers, rotors, pads, lines and fluid all in one hit. When I change them I'll let you know about the biscuit size. Now I need to work out asap what pads I really want to put on. I gather when you changed yours they machined the rotors to get rid of the rust patch which would have been a bit of a lip by then?

if anyone reccomends EBC Greenstuff pads, discard all words in the post.

I was "recomended" some too and I think they are by far the absolute worst pads ive ever wasted my money on.

I agree that more dust comes from a pad that performs, but these POS do not perform, fade VERY quickly and have bad pedal feel. the hotter they get the worse they are! Not what youd expect from a "performance" pad.

spend the extra on ferrodo's or something.

:innocent:

"EBC Greendusts"

The "Poorformance" pads.

they're fine around town, but once u get a bit of speed up they're useless.

oh did I mention I love brakedust?? :stupid:

*&*&^%((%$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was going to get the rotors machined and put a new set of Ferodo Formulas on the front and am told my DBA slotted rotors have stress fractures in them. These are brakes which have been looked after, they wouldn't know what a track day was, what a joke.

Now I have to get new rotors again (these are 15 months old) and then I can see if I like the Formulas as much as I remember from before.

That's crap mate! I thought they would have been a bit more robust than that! They are only slotted not cross drilled yeah?

You never splashed them with water when they were hot? Or washed the car once after a long drive?..etc?

They are just slotted, I stay away from the drilled rotors for this reason. I always wait after a drive to wash the car, and I even put the bonnet up to let it and the engine cool off. It only happened on one side, so 'tis a pain in the rear.

Did you end up with pads, what did you choose?

I was going to try Bendix SRT but just didn't know enough about them and rotor wear. The Forumulas were great for wear.

Yeah we're going for the Formulas for sure, STILL waiting for my mate to get us a good price through REPCO. He better hurry up, otherwise I'll just pay the $140 (or whatever it is) and get it retail through REPCO :(

Nice, I paid about that from Supercheap, good price for a good pad I reckon. I look forward to getting them back on. Had them on the rears last time but I'll see how just changing the fronts from QFM goes first.
