Yeah I'm heading towards 3 yrs on the original, don't know how much longer it will last though, she sounds a little slow because I'm not driving it as much now

Ive been really impressed by my Delkor Calcium battery that ive got in the Mini. Its going on 5yrs old and very rarely gets used. Yet when I do drive the car it always cranks over strong. When ive left my other cars unstarted for a month the batteries are usually flat!!!!

If it takes longer to start than usual its probably near its death.

One in the turbo lasted 4.5 years and the XR8 is at nearly 5yrs now but takes longer to start and has been doing it for about 4months now.

The one in the turbo started cranking longer at the 4 year mark and by the 6 months after it just died on command, lucky I was at my mechanics having a chat!

apart from cranking over, is there any other signs that the battery needs to go?

ie: my windows are reeeeaally sloooooww, especially when doing both at once.

Vote: Yeh or Nah

Cheers

Dan

Could be a sign Dan....but could just mean the tracks need a bit of cleaning/lube.

I've never gotten more than two years out of a Ford battery, in fact the barstard in me BF died recently after only about 18 months.

Oh and Xwing that's to be expected on a car with about one years worth of km's on it!

what the hell have you been doing to only get 18 months out of a battery? M car was sitting in stock for around 4 months before I picked it out in November 05 and as I mentioned its still going
