chad_22 Member 44 Member For: 18y 7m 16d Posted 22/05/08 10:51 PM Share Posted 22/05/08 10:51 PM Hey GuysI'm not the most technically minded person when it comes to cars so thought id just try get some advice so I know im not being scr*wed.Just had my car in to get its pink slip today and iv been told I have a blown gasket where the manifold bolts onto the motor.Iv been quoted around 5-600 to get it fixed with the possibility of it running to 7-800 if the bolts crack or something when the works being done.They cant pass my pink slip until this is done.Is this common? But are they sure that bolts aren't just loose, a very common problem on these cars.Yeah to me seems that it was diagnosed as a blown gasket without looking at the car that much so I think I might take it to a site sponsor just to double check its not just the bolts and I'm not being taken for a ride. I heard the gaskets on these things are usually bullet proof and the car is definately not thrashed.I was told the whole turbo needs to come off.
