There's some discussion over at FordForums about lower grilles for BA XRs. Check out the pics by Smokey_XR8 http://members.iinet.net.au/~adbell/fordforums/ .

Looks very good I reckon but I recall Harasn saying they are not reccommended for XR6Ts because they can impede airflow to the intercooler and auto tranny cooler. Herrods are developing a grille (they say for XR8), expected cost $150 -$180. What do people think?

Geez, that could pass for factory. No doubt series ll will have a lower grill but that's another story.

For $180 l would buy one if l was keeping the beast, worth it for the looks as much as the protection.

$180 seems good value to me. As Mondie stated, protection and looks. However...

Would adding it void the warranty?

Is there a definite answer to whether the lower grilles are suitable for T’s?

I would like to put one on, and at $180 I'd say it's good value.

It looks good, but I'd want it mostly for the protection...

G'day. First posting here. Was told about this site at a show in BRis on Sun. I don't have a turbo but have just purchased the grill in question on Sat. Local old guy makes em outa powder coated aluminium. $160 fitted. He's taken an order from Sunshine Ford at Southport for them and he's giving it to them at a better deal, but tells me they are putting a decent markup on them.

As for disrupting airflow, there would appear to be minimal blockage when fitted.

Service dept also say it has no effect on your warranty

If you want to see the grill fitted you can check out my ute at www.cardomain.com/id/xr6ute

Anyone want the number pm me and I'll forward it on.

(Edit:This Number is now lost in the mist of time call the dealership on the number plate in the pic and they should be able to give it to you)

He also mentioned that Ford might have something under development but not to expect it till series 2 when ever that might be......

They look damn good hense the reason I chased the bloke down.

LOVE! the colour B)

Have often looked at the 'Bird' and thought about a grill there, but after seeing it and in the right colour I'm of two minds. It looks OK but I can live without it.

Purchased from Lou on Sat, fitted for $160. He said his discount to Ford dealers would be down to around the $120 mark, and they told him with their mark-up they'd sell em for around $190!!

$70 per grill for the deler....and they'll sell pretty quick given the interest.

Glad I got mine now

I think they look good. If they effect airflow, then the intercooler must be sh#t anyway because the openings and pretty large. I'd get one.
