groper Member 611 Member For: 17y 10m 17d Posted 08/06/08 09:50 AM Author Share Posted 08/06/08 09:50 AM (edited) well done guys!!!!!!!!!!I had a similar thing on my manual a year and a half ago..... worked basically the same way... keep your foot flat to the floor and change gears... it did not rev out past the revs set in via the edit, and changing was a actually fun in this manner. have you guys done something better then the wog did when he was doing it? or is the flat shift very similar to what he was doing? if it is better in what way?the launch control is totally unchartered waters though and a big thumbs up on that one as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its times like these I wish the manual was still modified.good luck at the track!!we spoke to the wog about it, and sure you can set the factory limiter in the pcm to catch the revs from over revving, you can even set it so it only activates when you push the clutch in... but like I said, it pulls fuel and closes the throttle, it doesnt cut spark. Therefore you can still flatshift without fear of over revving, but you still loose boost between shifts and get the lag.F6UTE and guys like that drove themselves around this problem by shifting faster than superman could blow his load, but I dont really wanna do that to my gearbox and probably dont have level of skill these guys have either... with this, anybody can do it easily and safely.I spoke to F6UTE and asked his advice on how to launch hard so I could run a decent time. His advice was to have a good clutch and launch from 4800rpm. So I tried this a few times and almost blew up my clutch in the process. This is why I started to look into it and find a better way, so I didnt have to abuse my clutch to launch hard.
