Thanks fellas. Plan to scope it out soon. I haven't driven up to Mt Buller during the warmer months.

Was considering going via Strath Creek Rd to Flowerdale, then up to Mansfield. What's the Goulburn Hwy like, Adam? I remember some scenic twisties along the Strath Creek route.

Forget getting off the Hume at Broadford and heading across to Strath Creek. sh*t of a drive from that direction.

The GV Hwy is just a country highway. Nothing to exciting. It's just the road to your destination.

Don't waste the fuel checking out the Buller road. It's in good knick.

Road between Whitfield and Myrtleford is unsealed - just putting it out there for future reference as some tourist maps say its sealed.

Road up to Mt Buller is good - lots of hair-pins  BP at Mansfield has no Ultimate 98 RON because the pump is out of action. But the Caltex at Mansfield has Vortex 98 thank goodness

Proposing Sun 7 April for Mt Buller back of Eildon cruise - it's a long one for a day trip so we'll be leaving from Wallan BP early. I'll post up a new thread on it to gauge interest. That weekend is good as there is little chance of rain - following weekends in April have a reasonable expectations of rain forecast. Planning on having lunch in Mansfield after going up and down Mt Buller as there's hardly anything open at the top of Mt Buller this time of year (and more choices in Mansfield)

Sounds pretty good mate, apart from the date... 7th April is very soon... may not be able to get many people before that date :)

Yep, thought about that - but following weekends are not looking dry. I think those sort of roads are best done relatively dry. It's just less than 2 weeks away so let's see what happens :beerchug:

I'd put in a backup date, if I were you. Bit hard to predict the weather with any measure of accuracy more than a week ahead anyway, realistically.

Are you on Facebook, Gary? If so, I'll get you onto the group, if not, I'll let the guys on there know to register interest in your thread :)
