When I did a skidpan in 2006, it cost I think $160 per person. Is that too expensive by today's terms? It could be even more now. That was a proper skidpan day on a purpose built skidpan in Melbourne near Tullamarine where Kevwrx was on hand to provide instruction for newbies. Basically there is a 20 min classroom session at the beginning, then he takes you around as a passenger once, showing you what to do, then he sits gunshot with you second time round telling you how to adjust your technique then you get to go around by yourself. All up, I think we all fitted in at least 5 turns with 6 cars attending the event (only 1 car on the skidpan at any one time though).

It's not a spectator event, so only the drivers and their cars were allowed.

You use your own car so you get a feel of the dynamics of your own car. There is water sprayed onto the skidpan so that you don't rip up your tyres. Takes a full day to do. We all chip in for snags and coke for lunch. At the end of it, we all got a certificate of completion as well. :gaypost:

160 is a fair bit of coin! Although I presume if there was more than 6 it would potentially be a little cheaper (wouldn't all get 5 or 6 runs though of course). Sounds good though, I could definitely use a 'classroom' session myself I think
