Well -

Phone call on Wednesday... from the dealer service dept...

Mate - good news and bad...

1. Rear doors are all fixed, both the child lock assemblies replaced...

2. Squeaking noise from the rear left hand under power (load) - fixed... I said it sounds like a fuel pump issue... They said its was due to the hand brake cable... hhhmmm

(the service manager thought I was crazy when I got there and told the guys - yet again... he went out with me on a test drive and heard it himself... was very suprised...)

3. Rattles in the dash under power (load) fixed...

4. Panel shop should be finished with the paint issues tomorrow or Friday...

Anyways - went to pick it up on Friday...

* Rust in the engine bay - Fixed... (happy)..

* Chip on the rear 1/4 panel fixed ... (All good except the paint crease, and a few tiny clear paint bubbles - lucky not noticable unless you look for it - half happy)...

* Rear doors (havent checked)...

* Squeak in the rear under power still there... suprise suprise...

* But then sat in the drivers seat and saw huge white marks all over the dash!!!

Was so PI553D....

Told them to fix it they tried BUT MADE IT WORSE...

Said sorry take it home and try some good leather cleaner...

Called them on the way home and said not happy and not feeling good about this...

They said if it doesnt work they know and will replace the dash...

So I have just spent the day wasted driving all over Sydney trying to find something to fix it... All I could do was get the white power type stuff out, but the colour on the dash is now stained or lightened as the cleaner they have used has left a bleached like mark on both sides!!!

SO PI553D!!!

Not sure if I really want to dash pulled out now and replaced...

Every time I get something done to the car, it comes back with the same problems or something else...

Oh yeah and I think its a NCO Upgrade or something to get FU(4!NG grease on my roof lining each time I get the car back!

Swear im starting to see why people dont get Ford service to work on their cars anymore...

Any ideas guys???

but on a serious note; get them to replace the dash mate, even if simply on principal! if they stuff something else up, you get them to replace that! bit of a bugger of a situation though, any other dealers in the area? or within a reasonable travel time?

If it's anything like retail, then the dealership you take this to next will (should) jump at the chance to impress you with their service to convince you to come back to them for all of your needs.

Go and a buse them mate, I would abuse my own service dept if a car (especially an FPV) was handed back to a customer like that! Get the New Vehicle sales manager involved with this, if not the dealer principal. Is it the dealer you bought the car from? If so get your salesman to do something about it.

The service dept should know by now that anyone that has bought an FPV will most likely be a car enthusiast and not appreciate their car being treated like a FUC*ING DIRTY RAG!

Senna, yeah funny you should say go back to the Sales manager...

I called a friend that works with a different car brand for the same group and she gave me the GM's mobile and details etc (before buying the car) and said deal with him...

So the deal was done between the GM and I...

Being the nice guy I am, after pick up the first place I went to was the bottle shop and as I had heard he like his scotch and the boys on the sales floor like crown'ies, they recieved a few pressies (on the quiet of course)...

Have been back to see them since as the girly is looking at a XR5 turbo in the coming months... And the olds are looking at upgrading the EFII wagon, and the Fairlane Concord also... and lastly the flat mate is looking at a Focus as well... (possible 4 new cars in the next 6 months)... DAM....

I hate to cause sh*t like this, but I think your right, the next move it to go and say hi to the GM again... Just wish there was another way!!!

And after being such a big preacher for this dealer... hhhmmm I dont know anymore..

I hate this, maybe I should have taken drugs as a kid, or smoked or something, it would be less heartbreaking that buying such expensive stuff all the time, only to see other so called 'experts' screw it up on me...

Mate, I feel you are well within your rights to have a chat to the sales manager at least, they looked after you, you showed your appreciation - then the service guys fu@k up your car! Something needs to be done about that mate

See im a nice guy when people look after my interests also!

I will call the service boys tomorrow and see if they are really going to replace it if im not happy as they said... if they screw me then ill say hi to the GM again...

Might need to look for a new Ford service dept. dam it... the guys are nice enough and always up for a chat, which really appeals, but its a shame as soon as the car moves into the workshop its not the same as it was and rather then being better it comes but "limping and crying"... goes in with a cold and comes out with the FLU after putting a bandaid on it...
