Hey lads,

Pulled off the intake pipe for the turbo yesterday and I noticed on one of the blades , it has a bit of wear. Is this something I should be concerned about? Will it shear off?

Stock 05 BA MkII Ute, K&N , no BOV, no centre muffler, 59000 kms

thanks..

Could be your turbo getting too hot. Maybe replace the oil screen. Or get one of etms ones.

how is it different from the factory oil screen? and where can I get the 'etms' ones?

The turbo is water cooled.

I don't think heat is your problem.

To be honest I can't see much from the pic. It's not very clear.

ya reckon? I'm sure there are heaps of people using k&n panel filter. I don't think it's poor filtration.

Suit yourself mate. Have a read of this:

http://www.aa1car.com/library/turbo_repair.htm

"If the compressor blades are badly eroded, unfiltered air has been entering the intake system. Check for a missing, torn or poor fitting air filter."
