I didn't know where else to put this, so have mercy if its wrong Mods!

I've been meaning to put this together since I brought it back from Japan when I was there in January. Its a Team Yokomo Drift Spec R/C car. Electric motor, all wheel drive and fully independant adjustable suspension.

These pics were taken at around 1AM this morning after a cumulative 7 hours building and preparing the body. All of the decals are individual and you have to paint the body (which is very basic). Sorry for the crappy phone pics, but it was late and I was just proud to have finished it!

lol, a reply! Cheers Dan!

Mate I haven't had a chance to run it yet, seems to be some sort of wiring problem, so I'll have a chat with the lads down at the local hobby shop and see whatthey think.

Once she's up and running I'll post some vids :censored:

I can't believe that yokomo have gone shaft drive! They were like the pioneers of belt drive.

electric motors do need running in, don't give it full throttle on acceleration for a while nor max speed. Try and use about half throttle for approx 2 batteries just running around a local carpark.

Tell you what Pat, I will get some of my cars going and we can have some fun. Currently have a,

Tamiya 4wd on-road gas car, an OLD Tamiya 4wd electric on-road, a near full carbon fibre belt drive race chassis Tamiya and a 4wd-4wsteer monster truck with twin electric motors, it may be slow but it goes over just about everything!

Hey thanks for the tips mate!

I think they went shaft drive for strength and response, but I'm very new to R/C! :censored:

For some reason my remote isn't communicating with the car properly, when I turn it on the wheels just go straight to full lock and the accel controls don''t work at all, I've got the ECS plugged in but nothing...

post a good pic of the wiring when you get home, I can kinda see it but not well enough.

Is the steering servo in the #1 slot in the receiver and the speed controller in #2. Was the steering servo centralized before fitting the steering arm? And did you program the speed controller (or is it mechanical)?

What turn is the motor? If it is anything over a 14/triple you will melt those clear plastic connectors, go into the workshop and ask the guys for a couple of automotive crimp connectors, bullet style is best, use them between the car and the battery and also solder the motor directly into the circuit.

If you want a hand, where do you live, we can meet up and have a look at it.

Oh ok, the motor is a Tamiya Super Stock. I bought the full kit from an R/C place in Japan and they picked all the bits and pieces to go with the car. They had 3 options, 1. Just the car, 2. Car and motor, 3. "Full Tune" Kit. Ithought it would be better to spend an extra $100 for the full kit, all up it cost me about $380.

I live in Campbelltown but can travel easily, I'm off on friday, PM me if you wanna meet up somewhere!
