Why those idiots (briefly idiots) are releasing the next issue on a Friday, I have no idea, since my subscription is always late which consequently means I won't get my issue untill monday.

I'm convinced that my local newsagency are a bunch of Poofters (notice the capical P; this includes the females. How can I be sure they really are female?).

hey mate,

I have the mag infront of me....

FPV GT - 14.1 1/4 MILE 5.9secs to 100km (They do say the car is fantastic and the motor is awsome. Best GT made in the 21st century)

XR8- 14.2 1/4 MILE 5.9secs to 100km

VE SS V - 13.9 1/4 MILE 5.5secs to 100km

XR6 Turbo - 13.5 1/4 MILE 5.2secs to 100km ( They say thay had a head wind and slight up hill on the straight)

All these cars are in manual form.... and the new T6060 is apparently fantastic

Those figures dont tell the real story though... check out the rolling acceleration times..

VE SS V- 80km/h - 120k/h (3rd) 3.7s (4th) 5.4s (5th) 7.1s (6th) 12.6s

XR8 - 80km/h - 120k/h (3rd) 4.0s (4th) 5.4s (5th) 8.8s (6th) 12.6s

XR6T - 80km/h - 120k/h (3rd) 3.0s (4th) 3.9s (5th) 6.3s (6th) 9.7s

They say the XR6T is the new king and looking at those times I agree.... 4th gear acceleration is quicker than the XR8's 3rd gear and almost as fast as the VE SS. Also look at 5th and 6th gear figures. Unbelivable.....

They estimated the G6ET at 5.1 0-100.

The articles really pumped the Fords up. the MOTOR journos were clearly impressed.

Interesting that the GT is no faster, but lapped Winton 3 seconds quicker than a BF11 GT. It was also faster round the track than the T.

It sounds like Ford have really got the handling sorted.

Expensive Daewoo look out....

And yeah the GT is faster around winton.. about a second or so but for and extra 15Grand you would expect that yeh? And in daily driving the turbo would eat any Ford V8...

No F6 test? GT, but not the F6?

Please, give me a reason to want monday to happen, because at the moment all I have is work and assignments on monday, and I'm not looking forward to it.

Ooo, I just noticed something. The XR8 is just as fast in 4th and 6th as the VE... Which is odd considering the gear ratio's are (fairly) similar, but that in 3rd and 5th the difference is rediculous. Like I said, considering the ratio's are at least in the same ballpark (I haven't scoped them out for the new box yet).

Yea they want to nominate the XR6 turbo for australian of the year. Maybe ford held back from giving any journos the F6 because its going to shock alot of people and manufacturers. In their article they praise the XR's braking performance but in wheels all they did was bag it.
