Unfortunately at 10:57 this morning, my nephew Bailey passed away. After months of battling his cancer and growing tumours the little fellow could give no more.

Thanks to anyone who was able to help and also to those who sent their well wishes.

RIP Bailey Frederick Franz 18/4/2005-12/7/2008

That's a damn shame for the life of one so young to be taken so soon, my heartfelt sorrow goes out to you and your family.

I have a life long friend battling the Big C for the second time atm he was given two years just last week after this second bout.

:Imwifhim:

That picture just brought a tear to me eye :verysad: Thankfully at least the poor little bugger is no longer going through such tragic pain and suffering.

Deepest condolences to you and your family mate.

In October, through my baseball club we are holding a benefit night for Cure our Kids. Among other things are a heap of V8supercars stuff that will be auctioned off both on the night and over the internet. Some of the things are a custom painted racing helmet signed by EVERY V8 driver from this weekends round at Winton (have it on good authority that Skaife kicked up an absolute stink and whinged about having to sign it), a JD racing bonnet (not signed that I am aware of) and numerous signed footy stuff (League, soccer, possibly union, stuff like jerseys, balls, etc.) plus many other things that I can't even remember know. As more details for this come up I will place some links if that is alright with the mods.

Just thought you guys would like to see some of the V8 stuff we are getting so will post photos sometime next week when I know more about what we are getting.

Also keep an eye out for the Bottle-O car as it is carrying "Cure our kids" decals and also "RIP Bailey". My father in law is apparently also awarding the outright trophies on sunday.

Mate condolances aplenty. I work with cancer victims all the time and there are always a billion speculations on the causes, miracle cures on offer, and misery by the bucketloads. Even for the trillions of dollars spent on research and the skill of surgeons there are very few answers, but we have to keep trying. I often used to find myself angry depressed and miserable in the back room until I guess I hardened up a bit. I understand why Oncologists seem like such an uncaring mechanistic bunch. I lost a 9 year old from Seattle in the US 6 weeks ago from Kidney cancer and then a week later had another patient go to China for some apparent new miracle cure but was Chemo'd to death in 3 days by the doctors there. Adults who have had a relatively good life you can understand, but you can never come to grips with why this hits children. I have a 19 month old son and it scares the crap out of me that he may suffer the fate of cancer.

Blessings to you and yours, its always hard for those who get left behind.

Hi everyone, the helmet is now on an auction site. Bid if you like or pass the link onto anyone you think might be interested. Please remember that this goes 100% to "cure our kids".
