Well they are slightly more economical aren't they....will save you a few cents every week :roflmbo:

In actual fact the ZF Auto is the more economical of the two by about .6 of a litre per 100km I think from memory and besides you can drive the ZF in manual mode if you really like changing gears (It's overated if you ask me).

The only place a manual is better is on a race track. How often do you drive at the race track?

I vote Auto.

When the option was 4 speed auto and 6 speed manual, choice to go manual was much easier. Now that it's 6 gears vs 6 gears makes the decision much harder. I'm having trouble deciding too, proof of the puding is in the eating though so I rang 12Ford last night to organise a test drive of both the auto and the manual.

Also, can someone please explain what the big deal with launch control is. Any reason why you couldn't rev the motor to 3000 revs or so to build up boost before dumping the clutch without lunch control?

I would still choose the auto in the Turbo.

The launch control will end in tyre smoke, as these barges lack traction. The Manuals will dump boost inbetween gearchanges and this is where the Auto shines.

The auto is the best all round box for these cars.

Elias - the launch control, as opposed to just revving the engine, actually creates boost as the engine is held against the soft cut limiter. The limiter creates load similar to what happens when you sit on the brake in an auto.
