Finally picked mine up last night

It has managed to keep me amused at the wheel

Brings back memories of all the hotties I used to own many moons ago

Just a bit of advice required

Is it normal to hear the turbo spin (I take it its the turbo) after you switch off the car

and whats the solution to drive belt slipish at higher RPM

this purple thing goes like stink seems fairly tight

really look forward to catching up with some of you in the near future

Thanks in advance

Jono

Congrats on the purchase Jono, looks like you're already enjoying it!!!

the spinning sound after the engine is turned off *from memory* is something called Thermo-Siphon; just designed to keep oil moving over the turbo/bearings so it doesn't sit and burn.

my memory eludes me to as what the drive belt is (been years since I've done anything mechanical) but what leads you to believe it's slipping??

The motor lets out a minor squeal just before the gear change doesnt sound like pinging and doesn't do it when the motor is fully warmed sounds like the belt is slipping intermittingly

I my try some belt grip on it and see if that stops it from occurring

On the topic of T/C.. I'd have to agree with "TC off when it's dry and on when it's wet."

mine stock and its pretty mental in the wet... I normally drive accordingly... given the weather....

but I had it off last night... and went over a bump in the road.... nothing tragic... just a drop in the road level and surface type... I think the weight of the car lifting reduced traction.... (no I didnt get any air...) It crossed over twice... had it about 45 degrees both ways... then it came good...

So for little unexpected tricks like that one id say why not keep it on in the wet...

Also with the 4 speed its really clunky when traction kicks in in the dry..... not happy sounds...
