I don't think the turbo change is the curb the modifying trend, rather to increase the new cars response and overall performance.

I have heard that the new fg turbo will have smaller turbo on them to control upgrading the standard cars is this true or not

Why would Ford care about its aftermarket modified potential. that's the last thing they are concerned with, they wanted lower fuel economy, more power and torque and quicker response/less lag. They achieved that and made it significantly faster than the old model to boot.

The new car does NOT have a smaller turbo, I have spoken with Rob at garrett australia about the turbo when we were talking about another subject, he went into detail, but I don't want to repeat it, so I will tell you all that responsiveness will be up, and power potential will not be affected. It still carries the same rear, just different comp wheel.

6BOOST is right, larger comp wheel with larger comp housing. By looking at the heathshields in the engine bay it does look a bit smaller, but this could just be positioning with the new manifold.

Not sure on the Pistons Jim, but I doubt the turbo is different, its only running 3psi more in F6 guise

From what I can gather, the rods are basically the same but the F6 may have a bit of machining around the little end for the different gudgeon pins, they are supposed to be top of the line, which were required for the new pistons, so the bottom ends should be pretty strong.
