Guest Guests Posted 13/05/08 11:44 AM Share Posted 13/05/08 11:44 AM I hear ya! I'll drink to that! Not just that, but who da Chuck is gonna shell out that sorta moola for a GT, GT-P or GT-E when they're slower than an SS dunnydore? Fords got a lot of faith in their loyalty base.I agree the BFII's will be hot sellers, and well sought after when the new stock dries up - and should hold value well in the new environment. But the bigg seller will be the FG XR6T - it's got the goods and the price ticket.Probally the same people who made the GT/GT-P outsell the F6 more than 2-1. The new FG GT is rumoured to be 4 sec a lap quicker than the BF on a certain race track....

I guess the sound must outweigh the pound (psi)!I think FPV know that barely any of their v8 sales were affected by the F6, more so it drew them across from other brands & car types. DO you really think any car manufacturer in thr world would develope, build and sell a car hopeing they had a loyal fan base

DO you really think any car manufacturer in thr world would develope, build and sell a car hopeing they had a loyal fan basethat's exactly my point - if they have in fact outsold V8's to 6's 2:1, they obviously have a strong following that love Ford V8's. Its that loyalty they must be counting on in order to sell the new GTs which are slower, heavier, thirstier and more expensive than the 6T's. And yes all good car makers plan on and develop cars with loyalty in mind - that's why they don't radically change designs and lose that base, they evolve them to hopefully keep that base and attract new buyers. If Car makers or any other marketeer didn't rely on and plan product developments with their loyalty base in mind they wouldn't have a base market. Don't you think Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Lotus etc develop, build and sell their car based on what their loyal customers want? That's loyalty marketing in it's essence. Keeping and evolving tradional shapes, key features, key lines and stable engine formats. The only ones I can think of that don't depend on loyalty are probably Hyundai, Nissan and Kia.
