mate I've got the six speed which is a great box. Can be a little noisy sometimes.

Can't speak for the 5 speed. But I've heard a lot of people on here hate it and had lots of problems with them.

Yeah bud I can only speak with experience from skylines

but I've got a ba six speed now and it feels like a smoother

box. so far anyway.

if the budget can stretch to a 6 speed do it. If you are going to mod, a T5 will start to have issues holding up.

Plan on a cluch upgrade regardless if you are going to mod

the 5sp will go if you decide to increase the power. the 6sp will be able to handle almost all powerups without any problem. the 5sp tends to break around 300rwkw whilst the 6sp will safely handle over 400rwkw. but as previously mentioned, you will need an upgraded clutch, and possibly cv joints down the line.

Hope this helps

Howsee, it all depends on how savage you are with the gearbox. Ask Trough Lolly what he did to a XR6 N/A 5 speed, you could break it without even going down the mod path if you wanted, but that said he treats his 6 speed like sh*t and its tuff as nails.

you're only other option is to rebuild the T5 with billet internals... I think it's worth about $2000...

or a TKO...
