STEAL from the rich and give to the poor.It really annoys me that I am being targeted because I work hard and support the economy by employing people, paying taxes and being a good person.Might look at sacking everyone, not paying taxes and take up stealing and dole bludging.Seems to be the best way to get government support

Where's the incentive to do well in life? Make a good living and accumulate assets only to be taxed more and means-tested on everything to support those poor unfortunate soles that couldn’t be f*cked giving it a go themselves.Becoming more and more like communism

Posted 13/05/08 02:01 AM Share Posted 13/05/08 02:01 AM How quickly people forget little Johnny bringing in the GST. IF the GST was bought in as it was originally planned, 10% on EVERYTHING then we would not be paying 40% on fuel, the PAYG Tax would be gone, and there'd be NO WAY to evade taxation as EVERYTHING would have been taxed at point of sale.Instead the F'n Labor nancies whined about tax on food. The Democraps whined about tax on Tampons....In the end the GST that got through was a hatchet job and now we're left with this abortion of a tax system. If GST was introduced as originally intended we'd ALL be better off!"Becoming more and more like communism"No Trent, it IS F'n communisim. This means that a Labour govenrment can never be good for a country and its economy, and history prooves this. It's just that we have too many dumb *beep* out there who vote for the tools. Following the 2008 Budget, that car will cost either a little more - or a lot, depending on what you're buying.Thinking of buying a luxury car? Be prepared for a price rise, as tonight’s budget promises to increase the cost of cars that fall over the luxury tax threshold of $57,123. The luxury tax rises from 25 per cent of any amount over $57,123 to 33 per cent.Although Australia’s most popular cars – including Commodore, HiLux and Corolla – are exempt, Australia’s manufacturers still fall foul of the increase at the top end of their model line ups.Ford’s Territory Ghia Turbo will go up $495.82, to $65,986. Ford’s FPV models will also increase in price.Holden’s Statesman models will increase in price. The Statesman V6 will rise from $60,990 to $61,219, while its V8 stablemate will go up by $466, to $65,456.A Calais V V8 will rise from $59,290 to $59,418, a price rise of $128.HSV will also be hit, with the Clubsport R8 manual rising from $62,890 to $63,232, an increase of $341.75.Popular imports will also feel the impact of the government’s revenue grab. A BMW 320 Executive Automatic will rise $81, to $51,582, while an M3 will go up from $157,000 to $162,919.If a Mercedes C Class is more your style, then factor in a price rise of $206 for a C200K Elegance, or $4881 for a C63 AMG. That takes the price of the AMG to $144,382.Drop top motoring will also be affected, with the Mini Cooper S Cabrio Chilli JCW going up from $58,900 to $59,005, a rise of $105. A Porsche Boxster S manual will increase from $135,100 to $139,721. That’s a jump of $4621.At the very top end of the market, a Pagani C12S Roadster will line government coffers to the tune of an extra $86,001, taking the price of the hand-built super car to $1,594,406. Fancy a Rolls Royce Phantom? Be prepared to open your wallet for an extra $50,837, taking the sticker price to $965,837.But it’s not all bad news. You can still get into a prestige badge for less than the luxury tax threshold. A BMW 120i Convertible lists at $52,900 (until you start ticking options boxes, which could take the price over the $57,123 barrier), while it’s possible to get into an Audi A4 1.8T for $53,500. Again, beware of those options.Need to take out a second mortgage just to pay the tax on a Pagani.....

This is becausethe rate of luxury car tax is determined bythe date of delivery, not the date the order isplaced. So even though the coalition-majority senate sent this bill to a committee for review, it offers no reprieve as if it is passed (highly likely with the new senate) you are liable to pay the extra tax from if you take delivery from tomorrow onwards.Good luck to the dealers trying to get more money out of people a few months after they have taken delivery. I know what I’d be saying.... The full issue if you’re interested
