We all knew that there would be radical changes!! I hope they sell well!! Otherwise we wont be considering buying an FH FL FM FN Phoon or whatever is next because they will not exist!! That said, I still think they have a very falcon look, and I think it will probably grow on most ppl.

I do think the BA BF rang did have a much tougher look. Not necessarily better. But that's only one opinion.

Before you bag the quality maybe you should look into it a bit more, as the quality is a massive improvement from the B series. Its been designed to be right from the start, not try to fix quality after its already on the roads. So far, so good. A number of journos have commented on how good the fit and finish of the FG is.

Cant please everyone, sounds like your trying to justify your BF to me. Anyway, time will tell.

Sounds to me you have no idea about basic marketing concepts. With the exception of the G6ET( albeit not very well) Ford have lamentably failed yet again to hit and excite the target market. If you speak to any non car enthusiasts, they do not even know there is a different model out there. Improved performance, fuel economy, safety, features and styling. All we get is "think of the possibilities" . FFS stop thinking about it and farking tell potential consumers about it. :idunno:

IMO this is a soft launch to the consumer, it seems more like a line extention than true innovation, which the FG actually delivers. Yet the farkers are sitting on their hands. There are plenty of goodies to claim and advertise. The silence is deafening :icon_ford: NFI

Where are the published tests( Wheels/Motor) for the Phoon ? Conspicously absent. I am sure the Phoon will get it's own dedicated features in both rags, as the new performance king. It had better. Ford should then leverage this across the whole Falcon equity, fools if they don't.

The average punter still sees FPV as a Ford Falcon derivative after all.

Senna any focus group info you can share ???

Unfortunately I can't add any significant insight Buf. All I can say is that ford aren't trying to sel cars to us, they are going after the families that left the falcon around 5yrs ago. Personally I don't think they are telling the consumers enough about the new falcon. They don't show any of the new features on the ads, I figure if you are going to use a visual medium like Television, let the people see what you are talking about

My point exactly Senna.Where are all the bells, whistles and excitement being created around this NEW product to generate consumer trial and purchase ?? Sadly absent it seems. FPV will have to come up with a blinder for the F6 launch and hope for some halo effect or they are just wasting money IMO

I am sadly underwhelmed with the marketing effort thus far. Great products, dud launch. People on the streets need to be talking about the FG, they are not .Given the money spent on the development of this range, this poor marketing campaign is unfortunately an indictment on the whole organisation.

Has the head of marketing fallen on his/her sword yet ? If not the process needs to be expedited by managment with new executions of the TVCs

hitting the airwaves ASAP.

I pose this simple question, given increased fuel costs, expectation of improved technology, performance and you are a potential Aurion, Late model camira buyer, have you reason to change your thinking as a consumer ?? Clearly no. No cut through. Do Ford know who they are trying to sell this great new product to ??

Do what you have always done , you get what you always got. Says it all

Sounds to me like you didnt even read the above posts!!! We were not talking about fords lack of creating excitment, we were talking about general looks/presence of the car. period!

I agree, ford haven't done enough in their marketing of this product. But this has been discussed in a few other post already.

I think the FG has both VE and BF in its blood, as far as exterior looks are concerned.

Completely agree, if I wasn't a car enthuasist, I wouldn't have any idea there was a new falcon on the market.

I don't think I've even seen a new falcon ad on tv.
