Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows what the vacuum hose does? (The hose which goes into the engine behind the cross over pipes)

I broke mine and am waiting to get a new one on Tuesday (tried Thursday just gone but ford id not have any in stock).

I have noticed a change in the revs, they don't drop during a gear change, does it have something to do with the fuel mix?

that's your pcv line and yes it will have an effect if left open.

firstly the plenum will have vacuum leak and possibly a boost leak if the 1 way valve has been removed.

secondly your crankcase is not being sucked of its vapours/pressure and could lead to sluggish performance and oil leaks from strange places.
