I drove a BMW with the speed changing wipers.

Was very dangerous in a heavy downpour when I was at a stop sign and the wipers slowed right down, but needed to be going fast because of the heavy rain and not being able to see anything.

I think auto headlights and wipers are a gimik and if a car comes with these "features" they had better have a button to turn them off.

They still have a switch like normal wipers Zap.

They might seem gimicky but once you have them I think you might think different.

Tab - must have missed that in the spec..... if that's the case it's fantastic - auto adjust to roadspeed is brilliant. In heavy rain just flick the switch to "fast" as you'd normally do.

Well I know in the BF (and sure the BA was the same) they will slow down when the vehicle stops, and then wipe immediately upon take-off.

But like I said before perhaps this is not what you guys are talking about :idunno:

Hm. I never heard of that before, sounds good though. Maybe it was in the BA Mk2 onwards? Never happened in my 2004 BA Mk1 :(

But I think the guys were talking about wipers which come on if it detects rain. On my brother's E46 you just flick the wiper switch once and leave it and it will wipe only if it rains.

Be funny to see what happens if you encounter those window washers, as is so often on Victoria and Hoddle Streets, in Melbourne.

What are these two clowns gentlemen on about Flukey.....

Best best BEST feature I've ever had in a vehicles wiper system is the speed sensitive type..... That is a sensible and useable feature.
I drove a BMW with the speed changing wipers.

I'm lost! :idunno:
