Hm. I never heard of that before, sounds good though. Maybe it was in the BA Mk2 onwards? Never happened in my 2004 BA Mk1 :(

This feature was intorduced with the BA. ALL BA Falcons onwards have road speed sensitive wipers when they are being used in the intermittent position.

OK.... wooo up.

"Road speed sensitive" my BF2 is certainly not - certainly not like the VX2 Calais I had before the BA Mk1 T was. (sheesh - I never thought I'd own up to owning that thing on this forum) This feature was great - when in intermittent mode, it would slow the wipe speed right down when stopped at the lights, then increase it back to your selected "intermittent" speed over about 20 kmph. It was definitely the best thing about that entire car. The BF may have something similar - but it's not as sensitive as the Calais' was.

Pat - has this spec been added to the new FG anywhere?

I am really pissed that the G6E Turbo doesnt come in a manual.

Sure most wouldnt sell as a manual, but annoyed that there is no option.

I would have test driven one and considered it as an option to a new XR6T when I go to update my car later this year. If the handling wasnt too compromised, I may have got one for a change as I have had 2 T's in the past (SS-V at the moment). Instead, only the T is an option.

No matter how good the tranny, its a manualI prefer in fast cars. Autos just dont cut it for me....

Annoyed Ford - dont decide transmission types for your customers!

Coming out of an EF, could not buy an AU, and that was how I got to the BA t - as soon as the fancy interior was released, the Gen 3 was GORN>>>>>

I'll go dig through some specs on he BF and see whether there's any more info on the wipers....

I'm 110% certain your BF has "road speed sensitive" wipers when used in the intermittent mode. To prove my point next time its raining go out and put your wipers on intermittent and set the rotating slider to the SLOWEST speed. With the vehicle STATIONARY count the number of seconds between wipes. (It's six seconds from memory - could be wrong though... ) Now drive up to 100km/h.... count the number of seconds between wipes.... you will see that it is a lot less than 6 seconds.

just quoted one of these up for a customer today... 19" rims only option on it, 57k on the road with a couple grand in the deal. So dont expect much better than that any time soon as they will be popular enough to warrant dealers holding them and selling to the next guy for more.
