Just Got My Xr6t

hey ppl. just got my first xr6t last night im happy altho aint a v8 that im used to im liken it. picked up for a good price due to being mates car has all the goodies leather premium sound tft screen. its got the aftermarket bov didnt hook it up over that stuff but just goin to put my subs in it n I thnk that's all I will do to it until I get the power bug bite lol

I notice that the premium sound has a amp for the 10 sub that come with. when I go to hook up mine can I just rip the facotry amp out hook up my own on the facotry wires or do I have to rewire the hole lot??

Welcome to the forums mate, theres a HEAP of info here, you just have to filter through the HEAP of crap, LOL, nah its all very entertaining...

I LOVE the wheels on that VT, what are they called and do they come in Ford? What wheels are on your T? Kinda look like the VZ Clubbie rims but charoal/black... Looks Sik though...

BTW you got the BEST colour.... not being biased or anything....

Oh and to answer your question, you cant just hook up new stuff to the ICC and amps etc it will sound like poo, as the signal the ICC gives off is too low and doesnt carry the sound as good (may not be the right terminology but meh)... I also have Premium sound, and have 2 12" subs, 2 amps and a cap running off the factory ICC using an AudioControl LC6i. Its a line level converter which is connected to the ICC and you plug your amps and subs etc into the LC6i. The LC6i just boosts the signal from the ICC...

that's a rough explanation, just search LC6i and you'll get a more indepth explination im sure...

the wheels on the calais vt are a ssw brand can not get them anywhere I got them off ebay. the wheels on the xr6t are ba xr8 wheels just with the slits down the spoke puttied up. the silver alloy stuff was rippin off so my mate sanded them back a sprayed them. looks different its got abit of a gilter in it so looks good when washed

I went n got a line level converter today a alpine on good price I I just grabbed it. the bloke said I should tap the rear speakers and not the factory sub.... what u ppl reckon?? im still im process in makin a sub box for my 2 10's that prob take about 4 months lol after few stuff up's
