Hey guys, well, first off, don't crap on at me about the search function, I've spent at least 2 hours each on 3-4 occasions trying to find the answers without asking, but I simply can't get specific answers, so here it is.

I purchased a new BF Tornado ute in Jan, and after a 7k run in, have started racing it before I start to modify it to get a baseline. The car is dead stock except for a k&n panel filter, which when I race it next time I'll replace with the stocker just to make sure the time is legit dead stock. Now I don't want to list what times its run, suffice to say its in the low 13's on stock 19's, although the 60 footers are really starting to give me the sh its!!

I get no wheelspin or axletramp, but am having real issues with the 2nd to 1st stalling and trying to 60ft it quickly, I know if I cut a 1.90-1.95 60ft it will run a 12:) It runs anywhere from 2.29, down to my best tonight being a 1.998, which is getting close to on the money, but then next pass went 2.19, then 2.114, then 2.23, its just all over the place. Now I'm no dummy, I can drive a car, especially an auto, I have a corolla with a turbo 6 that runs 9.52@137mph with a 3 speed auto, and when we tune the factory computer in the F6, again, I'm sure I'll have no drama's with launching, but I'm up for some advise from experienced racers that have CONSISTANTLY cut under the 2 sec barrier to either spell it out word for word what to do, or at least point me in the right direction, as my car seems all over the show in terms of launching it trying to trick it from 2nd to first.

Anyway I know I'm on the right track, of 10 passes, I have 1x 1.998, 3 in the 2.0's and 3 in the 2.1's, but I'd really appreciate any help from you faster guys that have done it before you tuned and give us the heads up so I can stop thrashin the stocker and move onto a tune:) An no, I am not going to just tune it till I cut a really good 60, then I know its cut its best time.

Cheers...........................6BOOST

hi 6boost, the 6 speed auto shuts the throotle on you when you stall it up to much off the mark,

so you have to get the spot that only starts to shut it, if you stall to much, it will be slower,

that said, I would say you foud around the best you can get already, without a flash tune,

this can be turned off once tuned and the car will be able to stall up to about 10 psi off the mark,

but there will only be a bit more in your stock tyres, about 1.90 at best.

Thanks Dave.

I probably should have been more specific, I know it shuts the throttle, and that it does it later in second gear, I was just wondering perhaps if anyone had it down pat as to any specific steps or tricks, or if its just trial and error and a lucky pass.... I've heard of lower 1.9 60's, but like you said on the phone today, you don't think those are un chipped so to speak...

Well, if I can fluke the perfect pass, I think its got a 12.99999 in it, but I'd say that's about it. If I wasn't such a heavy bastard at 110kg, it would prob help:P

Now I'm really embarassed.

On our sh*tty, slippery track up here with a 10psi generic tune the best 60ft I could cut with the ZF auto has been 2.4x so far. I am basically putting it into performance mode and flooring it.

What other techniques are quicker? Is launching in 2nd quicker?
