Driver Mike Neff took one of John Force's fuel funny cars to the semis at the Gateway Nationals in St. Louis Missouri last weekend..... :3gears:

For those who dont understand the significance of this.....

It was not only the first "round" win for the car but also the first semi final appearance for the test car fitted with the new Ford "Boss 500" nitro engine that John Force Racing and the Ford Motor Company have been developing for some time now.

In a sport that has been dominated by the Chrysler Hemi for 40 odd years now, this is like a breath of fresh air :beerchug:

What ever happened to the McGee brothers (Aussies) Aluminium DOHC engine that was designed for to compete against Chrysler?

I think it was probably about 8-10 years ago.

Try 20-25 years.....

They took the engine to the US but after a couple of years....NHRA banned overhead cam engines in all nitro classes.....Sainty's can't run their motor on nitro in the USA either...but due to more relaxed rules here, they can run it.
