Hey all you exhaust geniuses.

Im looking at getting an exhaust for my typhoon. I wanting to get a power level of around 370rwkw.

At the moment I have all the parts ready to go on when I do the exhaust.

-plazmaman plenum

-plazmaman 800hp I/C

-Process west surge tank

-Bosch 044 fuel pump

-Siemans 60lb injectors

-flash tunner (obviousally)

-38mm wastegate mod.

-12psi acctuator

From what ive been reading up on they exhausts avalible are a bit all over the place. 4" dump to 3.5" cat and then either 3.5 inch exhaust or twin 2.5". Thay just seam to be a bit of a shemozzle.

Would a single 3.5" dump, cat and exhaust with a seprate wastegate pipe be good for what im looking at achiving? 370rwkw with all my other mods.

eg. Di fillipo 3.5" full S/S sytem or the soon to arrive xr6turbo developments system.

I also don't want to be spending $4000 on a full custom exhaust. And there are people out there with stock exhaust making 330rwkw.

Whats you advise?

Cheers

Tristan

There is a thread on about X force dumps - discussing similar things. Have a hunt around.

It seems the best way to go with some degree of bang for buck is X-force 3.5 inch dump with seperate wastegate pipe and 3.5 inch system. However... I have been going through dramas getting these bits in NZ, and have found out that X-force in Australia do not have any 3.5 inch dumps left. So... if you want it now, you will have to find someone with stock, or buy a 4 inch dump.

I have also been stuck with a twin 2.5 inch system in NZ (as that is all there is), which looks ok, except for the pipe that splits the 3.5 into two pipes, it looks a bit crappy.

Cheers mate,

Ive looked into the xforce stuff and im not overly impress with the out come or the quality. no that ive had frist hand experience with them.

Ive had no trouble getting the exhaust most places have said they have it on shelf.

Would the 3.5" become very droney? as a twin 2.5" would be better for drone?

Cheers

Tristan

The Drone depends on the Mufflers, but the twin systems are generally a bit quieter and less prone to droning - unless you put tiny mufflers or hotdogs in it!

cheers mate,

I can never understand why people think that the louder it is the better the exhaust is. I wouls rather a better quality system than a louder one.

Thanks for the info guys.

Loud can be good, but not all the time - my car is now a weekend warrior and has a dual 2.5" system with one middle muffler and twin resonators at the back just before the tips (effectively a twin cannon set-up, but with longer tips so you don't see the reso's) And I think it sounds tough as - very growly, gets a bit droney around 2200rpm though

If you are interested in the Di Fillipo system give me a PM. I think I can help you out with a better price.

Pm sent.

Wait the 4 inch nizpro at $2000 is only around the corner and it will be quiet. Turbo to tail.

I was told that the Nizpro system was not only just around the corner, but a bit further up the valley and another corner or two?

I think I remember November being mentioned - but I could be wrong.

Also - where did that price come from?

I have an X force system in the boot - quality overall seems pretty good to look at. The collector looks average, but... will have to let you know what I think of noise and power soon.

It does seem that cheap big piped exhausts can be loud and drony. However - a big single seems to flow more than smaller twin pipes. The twin pipes are easier to quieten down, and I would have thought better ground clearance is achievable with the smaller twins.
