Is there any adverse affects that this could cause. I filled the oil filter before installing, and put 5L into the sump. I estimated there would be 5.5L in the car now. I ran the car on the starter for ~30 seconds (pulled fuel pump relay) to get the oil circulating. The dipstick barely registered anything after this. I chucked in another litre, taking it to the 6.5L capacity. I cranked it on the starter again and then left the car for 10 minutes for the oil to run down to the sump. The dipstick registered halfway up the OK mark. I put about another 500ML in and it took it to the Full mark. Took the car for a run and checked it at home and it was still at Full. Checked it this morning after doing a 100km drive yesterday and it is now 4-5mm above the full mark on the dipstick! How would that happen, and will it be OK?Cheers,Michael

If its a genuine 5mm over the full mark i would drain some oil out. cheersLuke

If it overheats, blows smoke, burns oil and fowls things, ' it's all within spec.'

It isnt blowing smoke and seems to be performing OK (a little slow, but normal - I think that's my right foot itching for more power! ). I will keep an eye on it and if it stays high by the weekend, I may drain a little out.Oh, and hanra, I tried that - it doesnt work in my car. Foot flat to the floor, it still starts...?!
