Also to people who have done the drive day what am I to expect? im guessing it is not to intensive but more of a defencive drive day?

Cheers tristan

You will have an awesome day guys.

There are a few different mini courses that focus on handling, brakes and Abs. Then you will put all these together on a motokana and then finally a few laps of the track (the best part).

Really good course lots of fun and you learn a bit about the car and your own capabilities as well.

Enjoy

The course sounds great. I am booked in for the 3 July 2008 course at Sandown. Is anyone going to this one ?

I have done the BMW one at Phillip Island a couple of years ago with an M3. It was awesome. I can't wait to take the R Spec out on the track to see how they compare to an M3. The beauty of the BMW course is that you get to flog BMW's car's and not your own.

I will be there as well on the 15th - other than what was emailed out, not sure what to expect but should be a good day.

Great stuff. will see you there.

cheers Tristan

Is it being run by John Bowe Driving? as most are especially here in Melbourne.

If so, say g'day to my good mate Dean Sammut for me, who will likely be your instructor.

The day is a mix between defensive driving and advanced driving, starting off with some classroom education on vehicle dynamics, understeer, oversteer etc. Then on-track exercises encompassing straight line braking from various speeds - to a stop, and then some avoidance braking - swerving, perhaps some wet area work?, then some slalom (my Fav). After Lunch (which is provided you will move onto some more serious cornering - just a section of the track at a time starting with slow speed (turn 6?) then the final section of the track, and then moving onto turns 1-2, 3, 4 and finally you should get some laps around the track, mind you the back straight will probably be cut in half with some witches hat chicaines, and you will probably have to go through the pits rather than full speed down the straights.

Its an awesome day, and you truly get to explore the limits of yourself (first) then the car. You will be itching to do more!

The next level is their full blown performance course, which you get 1 on 1 tuition in car and flat out hot laps. To do this course you must have done the advanced course or similar.

Im doing the Perf course as soon as I get my oil cooler and new Intercooler fitted.

Hey guy's.

I just did mine on Monday at Oran Park in my GT Cobra. What a day! We'll learn heaps and at the same time enjoy yourself.

The 2 best things on the day would be hitting the track and the motokana which you put all the morning stuff together and really have some fun.

Instructor are great and very helpful.

Enjoy the day we'll have a blast.
