I gotta say man, if you want a fast car - the rotary is a powerful option! The problem with them is that they really aren't a daily driver option for most people. They can be tempremental and cumbersome if you don't get them on boost. Plus the noise all day every day gets pretty annoying. My dad and I built a series 7 RX7 with twin HKS turbos a few years ago. It made massive power and went like the clappers, but the engine was very maintenance needy...

Just weigh up the pro's and cons, the rotor will be quick, but the XR can be quick and comfortable

a couple of things to consider really:

-what is the fuel economy comparison - petrol isn't getting any cheaper

-not sure where you are, but in WA when you buy a two door (even if it is a two door barina) the insurance costs skyrocket

-what's more practical for a daily driver - you mentioned planning for the future so is this important to you or are you just going through a phase of "I want it now".

-which is generally more reliable? you mentioned you aren't on much; can you afford to have a possibly unreliable car and have difficulty getting to work etc?

-is your T stock?

I dunno just trying to throw a few things in there to think about. The idea of getting one might sound awesome but when it all boils down, what is more valuable to you as a whole?

I can hear Jerry Springer right now saying to me "go to oprah! go to oprah!"

Anyway best of luck; I wouldn't sell my T for anything but that's just me
