my brother has these on hs r33 gtr skyline fk452`s, in our opinion, they are pretty sh*t tyre in terms of grip. they are cheap though, we paid under 300 per corner, but they perform cheap too... far better tyres out there... for just a tad more money, you get heaps better performance.

"I was under the impression that the 452's didn't come in a 17 fitment....

where did you get them from, and what sort of power are you pushing atm, cause I know of the 452's and they've got a good wrap from ppl, but they don't last long from what I've heard????

any info would be awesome.

Cheers"

Howsee - 235 45 17's freely available at most of the bigger mobs (though I got a better deal at Tyre and Wheel at Brendale than any of the biggies). Am running @300RW - these seem to hook up ok with a bit of pedal work (compared to what was on it previous). Run them at @ 38lb..... less psi affects turn in.

Grope - interesting they didn't suit the Nissan. What did actually suit the R? Have a mate running the FK 452s on his wife's Merc.... and he rates them above the standard kit Michies.

Just got some new Maxis tyres yesterday. They go alright for cornering grip but trying to get power down to the ground they are shocking.

MYTHOS

Beyond the leading edge

The maximum expression of Marangoni’s know-how, the result of years of research, of racing, of trials and tests in the most extreme conditions.

Mythos represents excellence in performance from all points of view: stability at high speed, grip in the wet, efficiency under braking, manoeuvrability, comfort.

I have tried numerous tyres on my xr6t ute.

I have found that by far the Michelin Pilot Preceda 2's are the best set of tyres I have used. Even in the wet they grip amazingly well.

Put it this way I have been a member since june 07 and this is my first post, I am only really posting because I firmly believe these are the best tyres for the stock 17" rims.

Just my 2c anyway.

cmon, how can you rate a tyre based how it performs on your wifes merc????

when I rate a tyre its based on fangin up a mountain range in a modified high performance car, well beyond the realms of sanity for most people.

All the tyres I like, are the race compound semi slick tyres, nothing comes close in terms of grip and corner speed. Sure they wear out quickly, but that's the price of performance. I posted an article in a thread a while back that listed all these tyres and prices in one easy page... http://autospeed.com/cms/A_2912/article.html

most of them will have you grinning from ear to ear going around a corner like you never thought possible...

Is that the full range tested?

No Michies or Yokies tested?

Last year they gave the Marangoni Mythos the nodd apparently, yet this year they didn't even test them?
